quick coupons!

Just like Oprah did last week, the New York Times looks at couponing today. And speaking of, I got 3 of the $5 off Whole Foods coupon on to one page (pdf) to make it easier to print, to save paper, and to encourage you to use them so the company thinks it’s a good idea and does it again! There is also a new Walgreens coupon out, too.

I mentioned the Whole Foods “whole deal” flyer before, but this week was the first time I saw one in the store. It was the same edition as I read on line, but I noticed the very prominent text on the top reading, “Looking for Mambo Sprouts? $36 in Coupons Inside!” So, of course I picked up the flyer and indeed, there are some great natural grocery coupons inside.

But what was this “Mambo Sprouts”? Well, it turns out that it is also a site with printable organic grocery coupons!!! There are freebies, recipes, and more. Glad I thought to check!

(As an aside, if you are like us and have a Co-op Advantage store near you, a lot of the coupons in the Mambo Sprouts insert were also in the Co-op Advantage book this month, but only to be used at the co-op, while the Mambo Sprouts coupons are manufacturer’s coupons. You could certainly try using both, or so called “coupon stacking”, at your co-op for additional savings. I’m going to give it a try and see if it works.)

By now, you know there is a $5/$20 Wallgreens coupon for today and tomorrow.

What you might not know is that there is actually one of the coveted Register Rewards deals on Tom’s of Maine products. Buy 3 (toothpaste, mouthwash, or deodorant) and get $5 in Register Rewards to use on your next purchase. Buy 5 and get $10 in RR!

Want a little prod towards holiday planning? The Organizing Junky points out that The Household Helper has a *free* ecourse to help you prepare Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, featuring weekly emails giving you action steps and recommended resources.

Attention Target Shoppers shares two coupons for Horizon Organic Milk. Get a $1.00/1 Target Q here. Also, get another $1.00/1 manufacturers coupon. Target allows “stacking” coupons, so you can use your store coupon along with the manufacturers coupon for additional savings.

It’s Walgreens coupon time again! Good Friday and Saturday.

Do you use Upromise? It’s a free service tied to your credit and loyalty cards that can help you save for college. I joined years ago to start saving for our then-future children but didn’t think much about maximizing my savings. Now that it’s more on my mind, I’ve been using the Firefox toolbar, and I have to tell you, it’s pretty exciting when I go to a site where I was going to buy something anyway and a little green button pops up to tell me as much as 11% will be credited to my account in rewards. I’ve added a few dollars to our account in just the 2 weeks I’ve had it, but I do a lot of online shopping so YMMV.

If you decide to give it a try, in addition to rewards from restaurants all over the country, they have a new  eCoupon program. They load the savings onto your rewards card, so when you’re shopping at CVS or other stores, the credit will simple show up on your bill and be deducted from the total. Disposable diapers, applesauce, cheese… it’s an interesting set, not sure how often it refreshes, and you don’t have to worry about printing or clipping and remembering to bring any coupons with you!

Ecobunga shares a great Envirosax deal at Bright and Bold:

Bright & Bold offers coupons that save you $3 on the purchase of 2 Envirosax pouches, $7 on 4 pouches, $12 on 6 pouches, and more! Each pouch contains 5 chic Envirosax resusable grocery bags. Mix and match from the various styles, including Flora, Mikado, Mono, Retro, Amazonia, Kitchen and Envirosax for Kids bags. You’ll also get free Priority Shipping included on every order, and orders ship out the same day.

Another Walgreens coupon! This one is for $10 off $40 and good tomorrow and Saturday. We’re trying a new formula with one of the triplets to see if it clears up his eczema (before switching all 3), so this will certainly help me stock up. That’s the great thing about identical triplets, you can always have a control group.

I am itching to try Tastybaby frozen organic baby food. Before I order mass quantities from Amazon, I’m going to check it out locally (we happen to have one of the few national retailers near us) and will report back.

Freebies 4 Mom is talking laundry and links to Ecover’s coupon page, where there is $0.75 any product and $1 off laundry items.

Want Not has a code for $25 when you open an ING checking account. I’m going to count the pennies I make (post-nanny paycheck) when I go back to work very carefully and I definitely want my own account and debit card for that money, since I am going to try to contain certain expenditures (read: eBay) to that account. Perhaps this would be a good way to do it.

I haven’t been blogging here too long yet, but friends, I need you to promise me that if you are going to buy ribbon (and who doesn’t need some lovely ribbon now and then?) you do so from the affordably gorgeous and biodegradable Cream City Ribbon. In fact, just go and order the Holiday Kit for a Cause right now, because you know you’ll use it all by January…

Have any cats? “Deal”icious Mom points out that Purina has a coupon up for Yesterday’s News, a recycled newspaper litter product. Get a free bag (up to $6.99)! Seems worth trying to me, especially at that price :)

Baby Cheapskate shares another $5 off $25 Babies R Us coupon good for this weekend. The one in our area is way too far away for this to be worthwhile (I think I would use at least $5 worth of gas!), but if you are headed there anyhow, enjoy the savings!

More kudos to Baby Cheapskate for pointing out the drugstore.com sale that includes BOGO on Sassy items. We use Sassy Mam BPA free bottles for the triplets, so we’re going to buy the next size nipples right now and save a bundle. Lots of things on sale (including green cleaners EFP and Biokleen), as well as an additional discount for new customers!

Also way too far away from us is IKEA. They’re offering free breakfast this weekend at their stores. Yum!

In addition to Walgreens, there is a good Babies R Us coupon out there (PDF via My Priceless Pennies). BRU sells Seventh Generation diapers and wipes, Earths Best multipacks of organic baby food, and some of the newer organic cotton baby goods like sheets and portable cribs. In fact, they have a whole natural and organic section of their website. Who knew?

My Priceless Pennies also has a great post up about a current photobook deal from Shutterfly I’m going to try. We have a lot of birthdays in September, I think this might be a good choice for my mom.

sage finds: this just in!

The Walgreens end-of-the-month coupon is here, it’s a $5/$20 and it’s good for 2 days. There are also some school supply coupons on the same page. I wonder if I could use some of those erasers for my rubber stamping ideas. At $0.39, might as well buy some and try!

Two quick things, one for this afternoon only…

I’m not an Allure magazine reader, but this looks like something my poor skin could use: Korres Natural Products Olive and Rye Regimen Kit (retail value: $65) The first 250 people to sign up at 4 P.M. EDT / 1 P.M. PST will get one kit free. I’ve never used one of these give-aways, so hopefully I will get through and see what it takes to get it.

At Publix, Earth’s Best Organic Baby Food Assorted Varieties, 6 Months and Up, 4-oz jar is $0.99 BOGO. You can print your own coupon, too, for more savings, or to use if (like us) you aren’t near a Publix.

let’s get this party started

Woo! What seems to be a monthly coupon from Walgreens is out for today only:

I’m going to use mine for Similac Organic. My triplet boys are 4 months old and I’m not able to breastfeed them exclusively, so I supplement with organic formula. Organic formula that never goes on sale, of course. These coupons plus formula checks (sourced across the internet and the subject of a post someday) help make it affordable for us.

I am also a big believer in voting with our checkbooks. Similac is the only major infant formula company to offer an organic version, and our purchases of it sends an important message to them and other companies that we’d like to see more products like this in the marketplace. For many of us, green living is not a fad, and seeing a variety of organic products in conventional stores is still shocking. Shocking, but very convenient!

Other green parenting products you might find at your Walgreens include white vinegar (good for endless numbers of household cleaners and all-purpose laundry girl Friday, gardening spray bottles that can be repurposed for said cleaner, or organic premade baby food from Gerber.

What will you buy at Walgreens today?
