I mentioned the Whole Foods “whole deal” flyer before, but this week was the first time I saw one in the store. It was the same edition as I read on line, but I noticed the very prominent text on the top reading, “Looking for Mambo Sprouts? $36 in Coupons Inside!” So, of course I picked up the flyer and indeed, there are some great natural grocery coupons inside.

But what was this “Mambo Sprouts”? Well, it turns out that it is also a site with printable organic grocery coupons!!! There are freebies, recipes, and more. Glad I thought to check!

(As an aside, if you are like us and have a Co-op Advantage store near you, a lot of the coupons in the Mambo Sprouts insert were also in the Co-op Advantage book this month, but only to be used at the co-op, while the Mambo Sprouts coupons are manufacturer’s coupons. You could certainly try using both, or so called “coupon stacking”, at your co-op for additional savings. I’m going to give it a try and see if it works.)

By now, you know there is a $5/$20 Wallgreens coupon for today and tomorrow.

What you might not know is that there is actually one of the coveted Register Rewards deals on Tom’s of Maine products. Buy 3 (toothpaste, mouthwash, or deodorant) and get $5 in Register Rewards to use on your next purchase. Buy 5 and get $10 in RR!

Want a little prod towards holiday planning? The Organizing Junky points out that The Household Helper has a *free* ecourse to help you prepare Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, featuring weekly emails giving you action steps and recommended resources.

Attention Target Shoppers shares two coupons for Horizon Organic Milk. Get a $1.00/1 Target Q here. Also, get another $1.00/1 manufacturers coupon. Target allows “stacking” coupons, so you can use your store coupon along with the manufacturers coupon for additional savings.

Horizon organic milk boxes are more affordable when you use the Amazon code MILKDISC (via Ecobunga), which takes 20% off. Use Subscribe and Save for another 15% off and you’ll pay $14.96 for 18. At Whole Foods, I paid $17.00 for 24 boxes of Organic Valley milk (which is also a local product for us, natch), but I’m not sure if that was just a back-to-school sale price. Still, $0.70-0.83/box is not too shabby.

I’ve always wanted a pedometer, just to see how many steps I take with the triplets each day. Right now, a Tylenol promotion is giving one away, so I’ll see what the results are when it comes (and how it increases when they are crawling, and then walking, and then running…)

Re-nest writes up the new Costco eco-friendly dish and laundry detergents. Looks like they’re worth giving a try! (Good Guide hasn’t weighed in on them yet to know if they have the best of the best ingredients, so check the guide out if there is something you are specifically looking for, or to avoid, in your household.)

Two things I’m very excited about today:

  1. Sign up for a free sample of Horizon Organic milk. You’ll receive a single serve flavored milk (and have to take a quick follow up survey).
  2. Freebies 4 Mom led me to a free year subscription to Kiwi magazine. All you need is one Annie’s product. I didn’t even have to leave the room to find mine because organic Cheddar Bunnies have a prominent place in our 3 year old’s diet.

We’re going to be starting solid food with the triplets soon (they are currently 5 months, but only 3.5 months adjusted to their original due date, so we’ll be starting in 3-4 weeks I’d guess). I’ll be making a lot of our own food but I know we’ll buy some too lest we discover they all hate any green vegetable after making and freezing quarts of strained peas. There are coupons for $1/10 Earth’s Best in a lot of locations, including their website. With three babies to feed, I’ll be printing them all!

Checking in at the Taylortown Coupon Preview for this Sunday, there is actually one great coupon that will appear in the Smart Source circular: $1 off 2 Garden of Eatin’ chips. These chips are not only yummy (I think I’ve mentioned my addiction to the Guacamole chips before) but they apply towards the Barnes & Noble gift card offer I posted yesterday. So, if you buy the paper for this coupon, recycle or repurpose (paper mache anyone?) the rest and ship the coupons you won’t use off to someone who will use them, if the paper costs $1 or less and if you were going to buy the chips anyhow… that’s a lot of ‘ifs,’ but it might be worth it for you. Personally, I’ll just ask someone I know who gets the paper already for theirs.

Ooh, some organic grocery coupons! Dealicious Mom shares this survey from Naturally Savvy which promises

FREE samples and/or coupons from the following natural and organic companies:

Nature’s Path
Quantum
Dr. Ken’s
Blue Diamond Growers

It’s early and I have to get our older son to the dentist, so this is all I’m seeing out there right now. I’ll update later :)

Evening update…

Everyone *has* to check this out! Mom is Broke has posted a comprehensive list of healthy and organic coupons today for Web Coupon Wednesday. There are at least 20 coupons, several I’ve never seen before. In addition, she’s hosting her first giveaway, which in this case is 53 “earth conscious” coupons. I know a lot of those would come in handy around here.

It’s been a great day for natural grocery coupons!

Ohdeeoh pointed me towards a fun project at good + happy day, a mail kit for preschoolers to create notes for friends and family members. My 3.5 year old is an avid stamper and we have lots of out-of-town family, plus I love the idea of cutting up packinging or magazines for him to resuse. Maybe I’ll make two, one for his cousin in the Mountain states who would be on the receiving end of a lot of his notes.

Mommy Making Money did a good write-up of Once a Month Cooking. When I go back to work (soon!), this is definitely something I am going to do, especially since it is very compatible with fall/winter eating. Right now, I don’t want anything made ahead and frozen when there is so much fresh and wonderful around us.

Surely You Nest takes on school fundraisers and provides a wealth of greener options. As a first time school parent this year, I’m betting this is going to be a new issue for us. Exciting to know there are better options than magazines and reams of wrapping paper!

Organic Mania is offering a Twitter feed in case you want to hear where she’s spotting low cost organic groceries as it happens. I have yet to sign up for Twitter, but this is making me consider giving it a shot…

It’s Sunday. Thinking about buying the paper to see what kind of coupons there are? Before you go that often wasteful route, check the Taylortown Coupon Preview to see if there are any coupons you would actually use.

I couldn’t find anything that made me run out for a paper today, but I was reminded as I was meal planning of a coupon for Muir Glen Organic Tomatoes that has been around for awhile, in a few locations (HERE, HERE, HERE, or HERE, meaning you can print plenty to use in the future). Since I’m planning on going to Whole Foods tomorrow, I also looked at the coupons in their “whole deal” flyer (PDF). A lot of canned tomatoes available at a good price, but by the size of the tomato plants in my yard, I’m guessing I’ll be stockpiling to the basement at this price instead of using the cans now!
